Update: Excellent quality cable. If it's not working properly, contact Cable Matters and have it replaced.

Update 12/20/2016: Communication with Cable Matters revealed that it was a batch of poorly manufactured cables that they received. Cable Matters was immediately contacted with an offer to replace the defective cable with one from a different batch which they confirmed was compliant. After testing the new cable I can say that it works exactly as it should with no return issues and excellent video quality. was number one, and thanks to Cable Matters for resolving this issue quickly and professionally. First time - 12/14/2016: First pluses: the cable transfers data perfectly, the bandwidth is amazing and the picture is very clear. In short, everything on the product page is right and gives you the feeling that you have a great cable at a great price. The cons are where the ball falls: I've had this cable for about 10 days now. , and in my experience it's not VESA compliant. The power connectors (pin 20) on either end have a wire in between that causes the monitors to feed power back to the GPU, which should never happen. If this doesn't damage your GPU, you might end up having to unplug the cable every time you want to turn on your desktop, which gets worse pretty quickly. Unfortunately, this has been a hit or miss for DisplayPort cables in the market as many manufacturers failed to meet VESA standards and ended up releasing faulty cables like this one. My suggestion would be to do some research and find a compatible cable that doesn't have this problem, even if you end up paying more for it because your desktop parts are much more expensive to replace. I will send the cable back when the replacement unit arrives.
