Review on Inkbird C929A Wi-Fi Aquarium Temperature Controller: 1200W Dual Probe Thermometer for Fish Tank & Water Terrarium by Jackie Wilson

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Temperature fluctuations of at least 0.7 degrees Fahrenheit.

The instructions are bad, it seems to have been written for another device, similar but not the same. The application is sufficient, but no particular concerns. It registers when the heating time exceeds the set parameter. It would be better if it send email or SMS for high or low alarm. This product is fine for a few uses, but I will not let it control the temperature of my reef tank. I could use it as a backup for a runaway heater. I tested it on my saltwater mixing station before setting up the aquarium. The minimum dead zone is half a degree, so during the day the temperature fluctuated within 0.7 degrees several times during the day. This can work well for many applications, but for reef aquariums, that's quite a large temperature difference. Using a self-regulating heater with a small dead band can help control the temperature and provide a shutdown if the heater fails (it happened to me twice).

Cons
  • Not bad, but...
