Review on Topeak MTX Trunk Dry Bag - Black Waterproof Storage Bag (15x9.4x10.2-Inch) by Charlie Clayton

Heavy Duty All Weather Bag

This is a fantastic all weather commute bag. I am in the process of replacing the old silver gray version of this bag (second photo) after commuting with it daily for 9+ years. The side zippers on my silver bag were just beginning to fail, but I had no other issues with them. A note: the product image shows a matte black case, but it is gloss black. If Catwoman rode a bike, this would be her bag. The MTX system is very comfortable and very reliable. I ride some rough trails and in the 9 years of carrying the previous bag I have twice sheared the bolts holding the stay to the frame in the rear hub dropouts but the MTX mechanism on the bag shows no signs of wear. out of here. The bag itself offers plenty of storage space; In addition to the two exterior pockets and main compartment, I also store tools in a vertical space between the bag body and the padded/textured liner (third photo), which is great for keeping them organized and preventing them from banging around the room. the main compartment or the touch of my change of clothes. I keep my shoes in the office so I only have to pack my office clothes and lunch in the compartment. . I never drop the roof - I just zip it up and leave it pitched. I have ridden in both heavy rain and heavy sleet many times and water has never gotten into the bag. I wouldn't want to submerge this bag in water without rolling it, but my commute isn't too bad. A safety tip: if you use a shoulder strap and leave it on your bag while riding, make sure it's adjusted short enough so it doesn't get caught in the spokes of the rear wheel. This has happened to me a few times without causing any problems, but I've since shortened it to avoid potential problems.
