Would you like a homemade TRD CAI for half the price?

I think this product works best in combination with other mods. Let's say you want a stronger exhaust sound, let's say you have some kind of cut. Most of us choose TRD. But maybe you want more sound (from both the rear exhaust and the front engine) and the TRD CAI is too expensive at $400? In that case I think it's ideal. If you look at the TRD CAI you can see that it basically consists of a straight pipe from the stock airbox to the throttle body, an air cleaner, a less restrictive air intake in the fender and a nice red TRD airbox cover. Rest. is identical to your existing CAI in your truck. High price, right? Although I have to admit that the TRD CAI Top Red is a bit larger than the original, it can (theoretically) deliver more air at any given moment. but chances are these types of gains are only noticeable on a dyno, and are in the single digits at very specific RPMs at best. So why buy this product? Okay, you've got the TRD Cat back, but you want more. I recommend pairing this product with TRD part number PTR0334079, a "TRD flow enhancer" that basically opens a wider opening in your fender to allow more air into the airbox. Purchasing this K&N product without this part allows K&N to do as much work as possible with the supplied air. So give him more air! You buy this because you want the best sound, and I believe the extra $15 is how you get it. You can buy it as a spare for less than $15 and get 1/3 of the $400 TRD CAI. As for the air filter. Yes, this K&N kit comes with an air filter that allows for higher airflow than stock, but if you put it on a dyno. Again, you won't notice a significant difference. But from what I've read, K&N air filters offer higher flow rates in part because more dirt passes through their filter. So if you really want to make a TRD-CAI on a budget, throw a TRD filter in your airbox along with this K&N pipe. You get that sound to complement your exhaust. but several times cheaper than the TRD version, while maintaining a high level of filtration. Don't worry, you can still paint the stock airbox cover red if you'd like. Pros: - TRD CAI at a fraction of the price - Uses a standard airbox like the $400 TRD model. Cons: - The K&N filter doesn't filter much. such as OEM Toyota filters or TRD filters. but this is a cheap solution. Just use this with a TRD filter. Will a K&N Kill a Red Airbox Coupler? This would fully help justify the price by minimizing costs on their end. TRD is red and beautiful, this one is black and black. Both achieve the same result. but the $400 400 TRD is red. K&N can completely steal sales from TRD by making parts of this kit look pretty. Are any of us comfortable spending over $200 on plastic tubing? Please at least be nice. Other: - Works best with AT LEAST a TRD Flow Accelerator, which is only $15. Pair it with the matching exhaust for maximum effect. Don't expect much from the stock tundra. They replace cheap parts with cheap ones. You get what you pay for. But combine that with a decent exhaust. They just saved $200 over the TRD model and got almost the same result.
