Decent webcam at an affordable price

I got this webcam due to the increased need for online meetings etc. My first impression of the box was that the construction seemed good. I have enough weight to sit securely on the monitor. Much more reliable than the Logitech camera I've had for a while. Setup couldn't be easier on my Windows 10 computer. I literally just installed it on my monitor and plugged the USB cable into my computer and it was instantly recognized and available on zoom, skype and obs studio. The video quality was reasonable, but not outstanding. It's a little buggy, like most webcams, but the quality is definitely good enough (even above average) for video conferencing. Also, the lighting in my home office is definitely dim, so I'm sure it's taking its toll. I would not recommend it for a beginner YouTuber. Video from your phone would be better for such a platform, but it works fine for video conferencing. The sound was again sufficient and typical for webcam microphones. While it seems to do a good job of eliminating background noise, it does have that "underwater" or "digital distance" sound that's very typical of this type of camera. However, the audio is clear and easy to read. I personally prefer and use an external microphone, but even that is perfectly adequate for video conferencing. It comes with a front-mounted security shutter that covers the camera lens if you're worried about someone hacking into your webcam. I personally find it easier to just turn it off when not in use. I will say if you are using this on a desktop computer with your real tower under the table it could be a strain on the cable. I have a powered USB hub on my desk so this is not a problem for me. Overall I think it's good value for money if you're looking for a quick and easy solution to get started in the world of online conferencing. This is not a high-end camera, nor is it classified as such. My previous camera was a Logitech in the same price range with only 720p resolution and required setup software. This camera is a step forward in my opinion. While the ability to adjust settings would be nice, most users don't need it, and I found the auto exposure and focus seem to do the job well.
