Review on ๐Ÿ“ถ Asus USB-AC56 Dual-Band Wi-Fi Adapter with Wireless-AC1300 and USB 3.0 Connectivity by Aneta Sawicka แ Œ

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Iยณ'm satisfied with the product, itยณ's well made and the price is also satisfying.

I was pleased with the box, the card itself is beautiful, looks beautiful, a beautiful diode glows in the shape of a star and blinks. The speed on wifi n is slightly better than that of the built-in network card, on wifi ac - the speed is excellent, through 2 concrete walls it pumped 250 Mbps download, almost 400 Mbps upload. I connected it to the Apple Time Capsule (US version) and Apple Airport Extreme (European version, where the frequencies are not cut) using the wifi ac standard. If you insert into a USB 3.0 port, the speed is about 590 mbit through two concrete walls, if via USB 2.0, then 430 Mbit. Taking into account the fact that I have a 200 mbit tariff plan, I left it in USB 2.0, I thought it would be worse. I had to suffer with the setup because of the US version of the Time Capsule, I manually gave a separate name to 5Ghz, although there was a problem with the European Airport Extreme that it clung to a 2.4 Ghz network via wifi n, which no one needs, not because of it the card was bought. The second problem was that this network card does not see 5Ghz channels above the 140th number, forcibly turned on the 40th channel, at 36 and some other there were glitches. If you forcibly turn on only 5 ghz in the asus driver settings, none of the routers sees it at all. The third problem, I had to disable the built-in network card in the device settings, turned it off, but when I rebooted, it clung first, and then ASUS caught glitches.

Pros
  • Looks nice on the table, great speed, even with USB 2.0
Cons
  • You may need to torment yourself with the setting by contacting a professional. A day of settings and various experiments. Everything is as usual in the world of Windows pain :) A variety of Apple equipment pumps 400 megabits over the air without problems and settings with the same routers for many years, from the settings you only need to enter the password.

Its pros: Speed. The fastest USB adapter on the 2022 market. Cons: Terribly buggy, constantly turning off and on again. 2 years have passed, and there are still no normal stable drivers.
