Impact Sockets - CR-MO, Made in Taiwan, Cheap Body

I bought 18 metric impact sockets. I just received them and haven't had a chance to use them yet so this is just a first review. The frames are made in Taiwan from CR-MO, so I expect decent quality. They have a duller, rougher finish like many imported outlets (my American-made outlets look nicer), but this won't affect performance. The laser engraving is good and the bushings are also stamped in case the etch wears off. The case is adequate but cheaper than I expected. It is not blown but has a thin plastic insert suitable for a set. The case itself feels like cheap, hard plastic and the clasp doesn't feel durable. This is a nice complete set that I bought to add to my portable "dump kit" and I am happy with the purchase (I paid less than $2 each). If you are looking for good value, quality power sockets I would recommend this set. If you want a set in a case that will stand up to abuse, you may look elsewhere.

Pros
  • Built to Exceed Instrument Standards
Cons
  • Questionable Purchase for the Elderly
