Review on IE Works Rear Hatch Button: Compatible Replacement for Toyota Prius, Lexus 4runner Scion Camry Trunk Door Release - Repair Fix Kit with Screws by Jonathan Lloyd

Great for loosening a molten keg.

As many have reported, I also had a sticky, melted goo on the trunk of my Camry. I found this item to replace it. The only problem with this spare part is the lack of rubber washers. We had to reuse the ones that were in the car and they couldn't be fully cleaned and had to be left intact. A few useful things I found to install. I decided to fully flour coat the existing melted coating to reduce mess transference. This worked really well and I left a handful of flour to re-coat as needed. I put on latex gloves to protect my skin. This crap is very difficult to get off the skin. I worked with the trunk open so I didn't have to bend down to do repairs. .HOLD THE RUBBER WASHER TO THE EXISTING COVER. Remove old screws slowly. They are easy to remove. I used a flathead screwdriver to gently pry the assembly out. Be careful not to pull it too far. There are attached wires. There is a small center section that can be easily removed and a small spring - SAVE THIS. I scraped off as much of the goo as I could with a screwdriver and used Googone to remove as much of the goo as I could. It wasn't perfect, but good enough for assembly. The included cover and screws fit perfectly and didn't affect the function of opening the trunk. I used Googon to remove the dirty fingerprints from the sticky original button cover. I quickly washed the car with soapy water to protect the paintwork from Googong damage. Total repair time was about 20 minutes. Reliable purchase and worthy repair.
