4 stars for this product - a big lie! After reading the mixed reactions to the reviews I thought to give it a try. Plate with plastic, it didn't work. Then I read somewhere that the trick to getting a thin base is to fold 3 balls of dough separated by plastic or parchment paper and then press the pin. This tortilla press worked. I added more weight just to make sure I speak for him when in doubt. It does not matter. It's like a soft ball of dough has a mind of its own. By far the worst product I've ever bought. The two plates are so thin that any pressure on the handle doesn't help because they flex when you squeeze the dough. . The other broken pin reviews make a lot of sense now. And in this age of customer-centric products and services, how can these guys be so bad at packaging, how can you have such crappy packaging without complimenting the product and dangling it in a big yellow Amazon envelope?
