If you have an early 1999 GMC 1500 Classic Sierra and need to replace the tailgate handle trim this is the part you need. If you own a late 1999 GMC Sierra pickup with a newer body style, keep looking. The Dorman bezel was easy to install and simply snaps on or off. The previous owner of my truck installed a rear door lock with a pop and lock key. I had to remove a small amount of plastic from the front panel to reinstall the tailgate latch. never mind I did it on the spot with a sharp utility knife. The bezel is made from a matte black plastic that matches any other black plastic trim on the truck. The price was right, more than the original GM part and it was delivered to my door. I can only recommend it as a spare part.
