Review on Doubleshot 3 Red & Black / Black Spring with Pins by Jay Chowdhury

Pretty cool. suitable for cycling

Absolutely amazing pedals. I'm new to mountain biking (I was mountain biking before I was 14 and now I'm starting again at 31) so please take my review with a grain of salt from someone who doesn't know much about the technicalities of the fitment. . or mountain bike. but then again it gives me the edge of an open mind. I was apprehensive about riding without clips but was very happy to find these pedals. There are cheaper brands out there but I've read horror stories about them so I figured these more expensive pedals were worth it - I was right. They scream for quality. The clipping takes some getting used to. and snap. heh, I fell onto my side a couple of times and forgot I was wearing my seat belt. Clipping has a nice pop-like feel and sound so you know when you're pinned; However, clipping is somewhat ambiguous as you don't get the same feedback. The delamination won't stick, so you'll definitely come loose (at least in my experience), so don't worry. But you get used to it pretty quickly, and it's great to have a flat side too. By the way, this flat side has incredible grip. I've used the flat side in technical terrain and climbed without a clamp. Let me tell you that the narrowness made a huge difference on steep climbs. I was able to finish climbs I used to do halfway through.

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Doubtful
