Review on ๐Ÿ’ผ Columbia Pocket Wallet with Enhanced Security Features by Keyone Brownlee

The original Columbia Clip Pocket Wallet is much better

I have had this version of the Coin Pocket Wallet for many years and bought it from Ross. It must be at least ten years old and in perfect condition, made of firm, smooth hard leather and must not show any signs of wear. The new version is not like the original. It is made of softer, less durable leather. The seams are larger which I think means they are less durable. The ID card pocket is a bit shorter. One reviewer mentioned that he didn't like the quality of the plastic lid, but I got around that a long time ago by carefully tearing it off and replacing it with a vinyl sleeve. See Sturdi-Kleer, #1404, 2 1/4" x 3 1/2". This fits easily over the original wallet and keeps your ID pristine. I keep my MUNI Clipper card in it. The newer, lower version requires you to laboriously insert the Sturdi Kleer and then, if you choose to do so, trim off the top edge. I'm so disappointed because this old version of the Columbia clip wallet is the most durable I have, including some newer ones that were beautifully finished but didn't have the smooth, durable leather of the original Columbia. In comparison I would say that the skin of the new one looks synthetic.

Pros
  • The best in its niche
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
