Motion detection lags a bit. Typically, my SmartThings Hub "sees" movement 3-5 seconds before I see the red light flashing. So it's a bit annoying when I'm trying to turn on the light in my dark garage so I can stand there in the dark for 5 seconds. The battery indicator really jumps. On both I've seen it go from 100% to 90% to 80% to 90% to 70% and so on. All of this happens in about a month. It can get a little chilly in a garage in the Midwest. I've noticed that around 23 degrees it will err on negative numbers. For example -23. But I need it for most security alerts, it works great. So far there have been no false alarms in the first month. Not sure what angle, but it's pretty flat. I'd like to find a decent motion detector that draws constant power but still communicates with Z-Wave so I don't have to fiddle with batteries. Note: I don't have any other Z-Wave motion detectors to compare.
