This was a gift but I played with it a bit to see if I would give it to someone else. I will. Fine if you don't want the phone to be high, but also don't want to stick to the air conditioner vent (they never work). It does need to be a solid cup holder though, as frame-style cup holders don't have "walls" for this device to rest on. The cup holder must be the same size and at least an inch and a half deep or the device may not hold well. If you have a good, strong cup holder, it will hold up very well.
