Unfortunately, this material is VERY thin. I used it to replace the carpet on a speaker system after repairing a damaged cabinet. It was so thin, at least twice as thin as the existing coating, that there really is a noticeable difference where they meet. And through them you can almost see the speaker cabinet tree. I guess considering it wasn't very expensive I shouldn't have been surprised. I probably wouldn't recommend it and wouldn't buy it again unless I covered the whole box. Even then, you may have to paint the box black first to avoid seeing through this material.
