Review on πŸ“ž THOKWOK BT-S3 1000m Motorcycle Bluetooth Intercom – Ultimate Communication System for Multi-Rider Adventures by John Ghattamaraju

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Basic functionality, good value for money despite its small size, quiet speakers

My girlfriend and I drive. We needed a third intercom system for her mother to use during her visit, so we installed a BT-S3 in our spare helmet. (All helmets involved are Nolan modular helmets, 2x N100-5 and 1x N103.) Installation was easy. We only needed it for group intercom, so I can't comment on how well it works for listening to music or making calls. It worked well. The BT-S3 connects to our Nolan branded integrated systems in universal mode. (My computer thinks Nolan systems are Sena, and the Nolan app looks the same as the Sena app.) We were able to have three-way calls on two different bikes with acceptable latency using Nolan's universal group chat mode used. The BT-S3 played an "echo" in its headphones whenever the user spoke. Also, the speakers were *very* quiet compared to Nolan devices (which have larger speakers). I used the helmet with the BT-S3 part of the day and couldn't turn up the volume to hear my companions. At speeds over 50 km/h they are simply not audible due to ambient noise. However, our Nolan devices have always been perfectly audible. I don't know if there is an audio boost mode, but the BT-S3 would definitely benefit from it. Small speakers probably won't help much either. It would be a surprisingly inexpensive intercom device if it included more amplification.
