I purchased it to replace the spikes that came with my ekogama, and my initial reaction was the same as if I had put on a pair of soft shoes after having worn tarpaulin boots. I got high all during the winter, and even in the spring (after switching shoes), summer tires felt less comfortable and produce a noisier ride than winter tires do. There is not a single thing wrong with the clutch. Despite the fact that there was a wide variety of studded tires to choose from, I will never purchase another one again. In my understanding, the spike is only effective on clean ice. Since this only occurs once or twice over the winter, I made sure to drive carefully, and that was all. Velcro is preferable in all other regards.
