Fantastic feature. An unhappy (oh, deeply unhappy) smell.

These are the best booties for dogs in terms of texture, fit and function. They are perfect for my dog. The size was correct. Everything about their design was thoughtful and wonderful. All other dog shoes pale in comparison. There's only one problem. The rubber on the booties smells. A little disproportionate. Not a mild, easy-to-miss scent. No plastic smell. No chemical smell. I can live with them. It smells like dog poo, to my eternal sadness. Strong, powerful, deep like poop. This happened gradually over several days. I thought I left a bag of dog poo in the hallway. I thought the dog was hiding somewhere. I thought I stepped on something. Then I traced it back to the boots. I wrapped them in plastic. I washed them, aired them. No luck - the smell stayed. I'm finally throwing it away. I can't stand the smell. It filled the space where the booties were kept and started migrating. If it was a smaller smell - if it was a different smell - then everything would be fine. I like strange smells like fish, diesel and dirt. My nose is as sensitive as a concrete pavement. So if even I can't take it, it must be bad. And I just can't. All of which means if a company makes them with a different type of rubber on the bottom, they *get* them. You are honestly the best. My dog couldn't get them off his paws, they didn't rub at all, they had nice stretch unlike all the other stupid dog boots.
