My laptop's mic jack stopped working and I didn't have USB headphones, but I did have 2 or 3 headphones with a 3.5mm jack. So instead of buying a new headset, I booted this one up. The best solution. You just plug it in in about 20 seconds (the computer will recognize the hardware) and it's ready to use. Requires no configuration or modification.
