Everyone says so, but I ignored it; How hard is it to avoid spills and drips? Almost impossible, as it turns out. I solved the problem of filling the tank with a sink. That includes putting the coffee maker next to the sink for refilling, but that's no big deal. What frustrates me the most is that the carafe always spills a few drops when you stop pouring. But Melitta Fast Brew is fast, which is why I bought it.
