Unfortunately this is not the winner of ColorIt's Usual

I'm not the type to write bad reviews, but I appreciate the honesty of most reviewers, the good, the bad, and the frankly awful. I feel like Blissful Scenes II is in a category of its own for a number of reasons. On the one hand the positive, as usual printed on paper, which in my opinion is ideally suited for all kinds of media. From crayons to markers and brushes. But unfortunately, that's where the positive ends. I can't even say that the illustrations are childish because the underlying purpose is not how badly drawn the scenes are. I love VW bugs, but every photo of them is rendered so poorly that I think it's just fun to paint a bug. So what. It seems to me that there are a lot of unnecessary pictures. The lower half of the man's legs are lying. I assume some kind of tarp is attached to a tree? There is water, bushes, trees, but basically all of these can be colored with a good stroke with a wide marker, and it's not fun to color like that. No details. There are several, I will say that they are very detailed and beautiful. The log kitchen is a wonderful piece of work, as is the one where the woman is smiling holding the cat. Both the boy and girl sitting in their seats by the window/bed are also very reassuring to read but having a 4 or 5 out of 50 and paying $20 for it is no, it's a complete rip off. I tried to paint the dressing table and the chair. Make it look Victorian but there are so many lines I had to correct and complete on the page myself that I felt I had to mark work when I was teaching. I love all color books. I have bought in the past. I'm just waiting for two that I couldn't buy. I hope they are more promising than this coloring book. I'd love to save my money and buy Blissful Scenes (Original One) or Seasons, Animals, whatever your fancy, but honestly that's not even a good try.

Not as good scenes as in the first book. Mine was received with bent spirals & the corner bent.
