Review on 🔌 Efficient 12V SLA Battery Charger: 1300mA with Short Circuit Protection by Jon Booth

Either the device I received is defective, or this product is not a three-stage charger (see Wikipedia and other sources for a description of the three-stage (smart) charger. The three-stage charger changes the output voltage and therefore the current when the battery goes from discharged to fully charged in three stages.After the battery is fully charged, the charger should go to the final phase, which is the charging (charging) phase, where the voltage is about 13.5 V. This charger has its voltage never changed from its maximum of about 14.6 V. I've verified with two other 3-stage chargers I have on the same battery that they *actually* operate in 3 stages to reduce battery life, so this charger does not would be good if you remember to leave it plugged in. Unfortunately the product is defined as something you leave plugged in* should*, ie it is defined as smart charging p. Please note, as I said at the beginning, my charger may have been faulty. However, given the difficulty of returning items to Revain and the fact that the item was cheap, it's not worth the time and effort trying to return it to find out.
