Review on Algone Large Aquarium Water Clarifier and Nitrate Remover: Achieve Crystal Clear Water! by Keri Diaz

I had very high nitrate levels. (also with living plants and very little algae). I figured they would work on more sensitive fish so I gave it a try. I waited a week to see what would happen but the nitrates didn't go down significantly and the Algone pack became very smelly and sticky as some other reviewers have written. This spread the stickiness to all of the other filter materials, making it very difficult to try to clean everything. I ended up just doing a few 30-40% water changes to lower my nitrates.
