There is a lot of confusion in the reviews.

There is a lot of confusion in the reviews, some say it's too quiet, others say it needs phantom power. So here's the actual info: It does NOT require phantom power (48V) but does require DC biasing which most devices provide (2-5 volts). If your device does not provide this direct current or if you connect it in reverse, the volume will be very low.
