The plastic became brittle/broken after 2 months.
In the last two months the plastic around the metal screws has started to crumble. I attach the remaining fragile plastic parts to the rack with stainless steel wire so I can keep washing dishes while I wait for a replacement. The main body of this product must be recycled and made of stainless steel. Plastic quickly becomes brittle from hot water/chemicals in dishwashing detergent. The use of plastic is a HUGE MISTAKE IN THE DESIGN PROJECT by KitchenAid's original technical designer. In fact, KitchenAid sells plastic replacement parts at inflated prices. Supplying poor quality plastic parts is good income for KitchenAid and other parts manufacturers. I encourage Blue Stars to develop an all stainless steel regulator with inexpensive, durable and replaceable plastic clips. Then it will be a really excellent product.
