The seat itself is just right for 5 and 7 year old drivers. The gear we brought wasn't very good. The nuts fell off the bolts after every ride. We liked the seat though, so we went to Lowe's and bought some good nuts, bolts and lock washers to replace the ones that kept falling off. We bought a long piece of steel and cut it down to use as a brace as the piece that came with it was curved and not long enough for our bikes. With the new equipment, the seats are perfect for what we need! If you don't change gear, check it very often. We also added a velcro as a safety belt!
