Review on 🔧 Bilstein 46mm Monotube Shock Absorber, Model 33-230337 by Cre Soto

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Bilstein quality must withstand

Vehicle: 2007 Toyota Tacoma 4X4 with 3 inch front lift and 1 inch rear lockout. These shocks are highly recommended for 2-4" climbs. Although I only have 1" blocks in the rear, I have air bags that can raise the rear an additional 2-3 inches. I knew in advance that the lower ones Bushings and the rubber bushing had to be cut to fit the shock into the lower shock mount. The kit includes two bushings;Black for 14mm studs and Silver for 12mm studs. The Taco is 12mm OEM bushings and Bushings are 33mm wide; these dampers are 35mm. I used a bench grinder to remove 2mm from one end of the bushing and used the same grinder to remove 1mm from each side of the bushing. Except for one bolt that was stuck one of the shocks I had to deal with had a smooth install, to deal with a stuck bolt in the future I made sure the bolts go in from the outside; with nuts in; and put grease on the bolt, around Ro to avoid. The truck is noticeably smoother to drive, and time will tell how durable and reliable these shock absorbers are.
