Review on πŸ—οΈ Everflow BRSN0012 NL: Construction Resistance at an Economical Price by Jeff Drollinger

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The job is done, but the threads are cut incorrectly.

This is a simple 1/2 in. male/female NPT brass elbow. What can go wrong? It looks like there's a lot of copper in brass, which is a good thing. The male end screwed directly into the female fitting, but the male tube did not screw into the female end. Upon closer inspection, the NPT tap did not penetrate the fitting far enough for the exposed threads to accept the male fitting. I've tried various male fittings and none of them caught the threads. It was part of a muffler system for the intake of a piston air compressor. I ended up using an internal thread rat tail file and made the hole a little larger. Then, with a lot of pushing and turning, the male fitting finally snapped into the threads and was tightened with a pipe wrench. A lot of fuss for a simple elbow.
