Better than a 5 star restaurant! Surf some delicious waves on this board! Hi. I have a deep knowledge (and experience) of the South Florida culinary arts (the REAL "Hospitality") and this cutting board exceeded my expectations! 1. It stays on the tabletop: DO NOT SLIP OVER AND CAUSE INJURY! The handle is big because it's really big, strong, and heavy, but not as heavy as those white restaurant cutting boards that require bleach-rag cleaning (and dishwasher safe, yes). It is made of rubber and is therefore comfortable to hold. At the opposite end is another rubber tip. It really stays on the Formica countertop without using a wet towel to reach underneath! Throw it on the counter and start your culinary creations! Go to the city, it's ready!2. Texture: Better than any cutting board I've tried and I've used a lot! The heel of a chef's knife is non-slip and does not cut too deeply into the vinyl/plastic. The knife leaves marks on the board, but I expect that to happen because I'm using a chef's knife on it, for the pancakes. Easy to clean. Use hot warm water and Oxy Clean Palmolive and a scotch sponge and use the scratchy side of the pad to clean and sanitize. Still unhappy with Listeria causing plastic poisoning? You still don't need to use bleach. Lysol is a very good all-purpose spray cleaner. And you can get Lysol's "kitchen cleaner" spray from Publix, since Walmart only offers their multi-purpose cleaning spray. It disinfects using hydrogen peroxide as a disinfectant. Dry this board in the dishwasher on a plate warmer, then store away clean and sanitized for your next culinary creation! The smooth side of the board: for slicing meat and groceries, making underwater sandwiches and whatever your heart desires (and feeding the family, of course)! Works great, I wouldn't change a thing! 5. Corrugated side. Do you know how I tested this function? I took a big, big, juicy, smelly melon, pitted it, pitted it, and cut it up into a nice big container of cold melon! Mmmm, O'Captain! Here's what happened: Becky was very, very happy! All the juice from the melon mash when I cut this creature flowed into the horizontal grooves and descended into the marginal grooves AND ALL THAT JUICE FROM THAT HUGE MELON STAYS IN THE CHANNELS UNTIL THE COOKING IS COMPLETE! no mess Then, while I was cleaning, I would just pick up my board, carry it to the sink, and all the juice went down the drain. No fuss, no fuss. Maybe next time I'll open the pelican's beak and dump all the ridged contents straight down my throat! I'm getting drunk just thinking about it! LOL Finally 5. The color of this vinyl plastic plaque is beautiful, just like the promotional photo. It's fairly gray with a small black and white marble top. I am very very happy with this cutting board and was still happy to present this old white heavy thick ridiculous excuse for the cutting board it replaced. right in bed. I mean trash! I hope my review helps sell this cutting board as it took all the pain out of my EXTREME amount of cooking! Toodles!
