It would be good to warn people about my approach.

I've used this bike horn for several rides and so far I've found it to work well for alerting people to my approach. I think it's better than yelling "left" or "bike". I find it takes some getting used to using the key layout and which key repeats (same tone over and over) and which changes tone. They look the same and you can put them in the air on the steering wheel. I have two bikes and I transfer them from one to another) It's not a big problem and I'm sure I'll get used to it soon. The small part of the button is small so I can easily find a place to put it on my mountain bike handlebar and road bike. It is suitable for different handlebars. But I gave it 4 stars because the strap that holds the horn is not attached to the unit and can easily be lost (the button strap is part of the unit). It's loud enough to alert people, except of course if they're wearing headphones, and even then I think a loud chirp will get their attention when you get close to them. Overall I like it and might buy another one for my wife's bike.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Not automatic
