I used an older brand before upgrading to this set and can say they are faster. Curved tip scissors were new to me as I'm used to straight scissors and don't care how I cut straight lines or hard to reach places in my planted aquarium. It's also useful in my saltwater tanks for trimming my smaller soft corals. I just like using tweezers to dig/put my new plants in the sand if I need to escape or if my axolotl decides to dig up the plants. The curved tweezers come in very handy to help me feed my axolotls and fish moths and sliders. The material is durable and I think they will withstand moderate use. All parts come in a bag for easy storage so that's a bonus
