Review on 🔧 Adjustable Industrial Power & Hand Tools: Degree Clamps for Corner Woodworking by Ralph Banks

Corner clamps are not what you think

As a carpenter with over 30 years of experience it's always nice to have a 'new' tool for assembly projects. I ordered them thinking they would help. Assemble wooden frame while gluing. They didn't arrive for a long time, but they were sent in a very nice box, as if someone was trying to impress the consumer. What's the first thing you do when you open it? 1 1/2 inches, and to get it close you have to put that clamp in a vise to open the jaws to get that width. The thought behind it is brilliant - the app is not. Imagine you have all four pieces of your frame ready to be glued/glued together, how can you hold one piece in that clamp and then let the other in? You can't - The reason is that the jaw allows for some play either way, like for 90 degree self-centering when that makes sense. So once the first part is in place, the second part cannot fit, and if you have to assemble BOTH parts first, attaching that clamp is still a huge job. I took a spring clip to open these jaws to hold the hole slightly open for the tree to be placed. I will not be returning - not a defective product, I made the mistake of not digging deep enough when purchasing.
