This replacement pad was for a tool I have owned for over 20 years. I don't do much woodworking, but the random orbital sander is my absolute favorite. He grasps the material quickly. However, when it comes to final processing, I don't use a random orbital. Even at the finest grit, 220, 300, you can see the little swirls of wood texture created by the sander. So I use a 300 grit hand block to bring out the shine of the wood texture. My old velcro either fell apart in the garage or I destroyed it with a Scotch-Brite nylon pad (used to remove soapy water from shower tile). Despite this, the replacement cushion was easy to fit and I'm looking forward to getting back into furniture repairing.
