I like the fact that they are individually wrapped.I have used scalpels for arts and crafts since I was in high school and the doctor my mom worked with gave me a few to try. They get a much finer cut and give you more control than an Exacto knife.Since then, the scalpels have also become a part of my kitchen supplies. They are marvelous for scoring bread. Great for carving vegetables into decorative designs. They are essential if one must carve a pumpkin for Halloween.Great for opening boxes. I use the duller ones for that purpose. Great way to continue their lifespan.I keep several in my emergency medical kit.They are quite handy if you use them carefully and keep them out of reach of children. These things are sharp!
