I recently installed dimmer bulbs in my kitchen and quickly noticed that some of the 120v BR30 65w spotlights I was in had a very noticeable high pitched tone/buzz. bought locally. My research online has shown that using coarse service lamps with more filament poles or using 130V lamps with a heavier filament should work to change the natural frequency of the filament and eliminate noise. Or at least move it out of the range of human hearing. Switching to a 130v BR30 bulb completely eliminated the high noise I had with 120v dimmer bulbs. I install them with a Legrand RH703PTC dimmer and they are absolutely silent. .
