My daughter wanted something that would keep her dorm door open when she went to the fountain in front of the door or outside to deliver. Since its door is fireproof, it is very heavy. This doorstop doesn't hold the door fully open, but it sits between the door and the frame, so it fits your needs. She thought it was delicious and just what she was looking for, so she kept it. I think it will hold open an ordinary door that doesn't have a strong hinge. It's definitely different from the usual boring doorstop.
