We have been using these cutting mats for 6 months and are happy with them

We have been using these cutting mats quite extensively for 6 months now and are happy with them. They're thicker than previous plastic mats, but can easily curl up on the sides to guide food into a bowl or pan. But then they lay flat. Other old carpets kept curling up and just sitting on the edge in the closet. You stay flat. Very easy to rinse off and dry quickly with a paper towel. They can also be washed in the dishwasher for a thorough cleaning. They do have some wear from knife scratches but consider this normal wear and tear and easy to clean. A long time ago we had a wooden cutting board that looked half smashed, not to mention a cleaning nightmare. So there are no wear problems. The only initial problem was that they would slip on a granite countertop. But if you use a damp paper towel or a piece of non-slip drawer liner, they'll stay in place. Update in this review. It's February 2020 and we've been using them for over 3 years now. Today I stick to everything I wrote about in the beginning. They held up to our regular cutting demands. They are slightly warped from repeated washing in the dishwasher and storing in an upright position (between wood and composite plastic cutting boards). But they will flatten under their own weight when placed on a countertop. A damp paper towel or non-slip drawer liner is still the best way to keep them from sliding. Come back to order another set. The first set survived 100 cutting sessions and earned its retirement. They show signs of wear on the knife over the years, but no more than superficial scratches. Just remember that they are not made for smart cutting. For aggressive cutting, use a 1/2-inch composite cutting board or wooden cutting board. Would we buy them again after such a long time - yes I do now. I hope they work as well for you as they do for us.
