Review on AquaQuest Slipstream Waterproof Duffel Lightweight Sports & Fitness by Lynn Cole

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Very high quality lightweight stuff sack

Summary: For the job I needed to find a dry bag the right size for the project and I found that most manufacturers list the size in terms of volume (e.g. 50L) but in most cases it does Not. It's okay if you put soft objects in it; However, if you're trying to fit a fairly rigid object like a box into one, you'll need additional dimensions. It is approximately 26 inches long, 22 inches high. Another feature I couldn't find is the size of the pockets. Both bags are 11 inches wide and 8-9 inches tall. The zip pocket has a nice feature: the zip, when fully closed, slides into a small pocket, adding water resistance to this entry point (pocket). Internal label shows what is designed in Canada and made in Taiwan. I turned it over and inspected the inner (grey) lining, stitched very well, no problem. Another nice touch is that the end buckles (flipped) have another plastic clip that keeps the free end from dangling. Compression straps for the duffel body don't have this feature (but it would be nice to have them added). To further define the volume and size when stuffing, I put a queen size pillow inside. Then I added a second pillow. And finally the 3rd pillow. Three pillows was almost the max and as you can see from the photos they fill the bag completely when uncompressed. To close, I undid the body's compression straps, then put the Velcro on top, then folded it once, undid the end straps, compressed the body, then folded it a second time. After squeezing, I sat on it to let the air out and after some vacuuming the pouch held up well. Pros: great fit and finish; attention to detail (zip closure); high-quality materials. Cons: None. Conclusion: This is a great lightweight dry bag. If your application calls for more abrasion resistance, there are those that are made of a more durable material but aren't as light or flexible. I will definitely pack all my gear in this bag on my next boat trip!
