Good General Climbing Shoe

Details: Slim shoe design. Compact and breathable. They are good at climbing slab walls, which is the opposite of overhangs. It's more of a climbing shoe. I also have Black Diamond Zones for overweight work. Everything about these shoes is legal, but when I put the heel hooks on, it hurts a bit depending on what you're holding on to. Although I usually use my BD zones for this type of climbing. The size is reasonable. I wear street shoes 10.5 but my feet are wide so I chose 11. Tight but well tight. Please note that they will stretch a bit. If you are a total beginner and have a semi-wide foot you will probably be comfortable 1 size up, but be aware that they stretch and you could get stuck in shoes that are a little too big! Be patient and trust the break-in time. . They won't stretch too much since the base material is synthetic, so keep that in mind. Have fun climbing!

Pros
  • Neutral flat shoes for vertical climbing or all-day comfort
Cons
  • Nothing
