Welder works great. It's easy to use and works as advertised EXCEPT it doesn't weld pure nickel 0.2mm strips at all. I first tested it on the strip that came with the welder, which appears to be 0.1mm thick nickel-plated steel. This worked great at level 3 or 4. At level 6 it burns out completely. However, when I tested the 0.2mm pure nickel strip I was going to use for my project, it produced only a very weak weld that was easily removed. I'll let the welder do it, but now I'm wondering if it will produce satisfactory welds with any thickness of pure nickel, or if I just use nickel-plated steel strips. Update - downgraded to 3 stars. Do not purchase this welder if you intend to use pure nickel strips. It could not provide suitable welds even on the thinnest 0.1mm thick nickel strips. If you want to use 0.1mm nickel plated steel, this welder will work just fine. Pure nickel 0.1mm thick but no thicker material. I think if you want to use pure nickel and material thicker than 0.01mm then these small handheld devices just don't have the power you need.
