Well designed filter kit

This kit offers excellent value for money. It comes very well packaged and all parts fit the car perfectly. Installing it on a 2003 S10 ZR2 took 90 minutes but I took my time. There were two difficult steps. First thing was to drill the bottom hole in the heatsink bracket (tip: mark the hole by making an indentation with an awl and hammer. Then remove the heat shield from the kit. I was able to (barely) punch a hole with a Standard drill cordless drill). The second difficult step is to install the sleeve for the temperature control sensor and then install the temperature control sensor into the sleeve. (Tip: Use some oil to hold the bushing in place. Then carefully insert the plastic sensor with some oil and a pair of pliers. Use your free hand to prevent the bushing from slipping out, which is easy to do). The instructions are mostly good. Some of the steps are a little blurry, but playing around with the device in the car should make it clear what you need to do. And the last tip: have several metric heads on hand. There is no noticeable change in the sound while the car is idling, but you can certainly hear it on the move and at revs above 2000 rpm. Noticeable performance difference at all speeds. Not sure about the fuel economy claims though as the new sound and performance makes you drive a little more confident :)
