Having owned this monitor for 5 years, I regret to say that it was very mixed. The biggest problem is the power supply. It emits a pulsating high-frequency hum when the monitor is idle, which is very noticeable and annoying when you're sleeping in the same room. The noisy power supply failed 2 or 3 times rendering the monitor unusable. I'm in Iceland so sending it to the US for repair isn't really an option, luckily the local Samsung office can replace it, but it costs hundreds of dollars and has to wait a long time each time. At 17 kg, the monitor is unusually heavy. So heavy that most computer monitor stands are not compatible. The only one I found had very limited post-fit customization. It was so heavy and had so much power due to its size that the mount actually gnawed through my desk. Luckily the monitor wasn't damaged, but I never thought that this purchase would force me to buy a new desk, especially one with a hard top. For a simple monitor, this caused a lot of trouble. Old rating left. here as an accurate representation of the honeymoon phase of owning this monitor. OLD REVIEW: TITLE: A beautiful monitor with everything you could want except a jet black BODY: I wasn't sure if I should give it 4 or 5 stars but I'm leaning towards 4.5+. The screen is gorgeous with a remarkably slim design. A thin, pleasing looking bezel and a very solid stand with a nice twist in different directions. The resolution is obviously 4k and therefore very crisp and pleasing. Colors are stunning and multiple color profiles are calibrated with the utmost precision. While I haven't maxed it out (it's no use living in a dark Iceland), the screen is very bright even at relatively low settings, so I think you can use it in full daylight with settings up to 100 without any problems. The packaging was good, the monitor came in a big sturdy box that would obviously survive a trip from the US to Iceland, it had the calibration data nicely designed and boxed, the displayport cable and some goodies. I have two problems with the monitor. noticed.1. Blacks could be darker and I have two brightness ghosts on the far left of the monitor which are a bit distracting especially when viewing low brightness content.2. Another very minor annoyance is that the pixel order seems atypical. In fact, it is only noticeable when displaying text with liquid crystal systems, e.g. B. Transparent fonts. This causes the colors to separate from the characters before the system is reconfigured, giving them the effect of chromatic aberration. After fixing it, I noticed that this change doesn't seem to apply to Chrome's PDF viewer, so the problem persists there, and on rare occasions, videos (YouTuber) are rendered by computers with the more typical clear-type setting and recorded chromatically Separation can be noticeable there. The price is of course a disadvantage, but I think it's quite reasonable after the price reduction considering the size and quality.
