I bought this monitor to get high end 4K for use with Lightroom. For this key need, it works spectacularly - love it! Pros: - Fantastically clear screen - 4K picture - Plenty of inputs (other than HDMI - see below) - Relatively quick toggling and powering up like a monitor that can go very dim with no apparent loss of quality/flicker) - Accessory Palooza: Many included by Cables and adapters included, even what appears to be a sturdy wall mount (not sure I won't be using it). Everything looks very high quality. Cons - Buttons and Menus: The layout of the buttons is just annoying. Once you have arrived at the menu, the layout and operation are also annoying. All buttons are on the far right but at the bottom; This means that every time you click the button, you click. Over time, this will cause the monitor to drift off axis. Most people will probably never notice it, but I do and it annoys me. - Biggest problem: For each input, this monitor does NOT learn YOUR SETTINGS such as brightness, contrast and most importantly color profile/room. If you're using DisplayPort1, lower the brightness and then switch to HDMI for your Roku, it's too dark for me now and I need to turn it up. Then when I come back I have to turn it down. Come on Samsung, the 8 year old monitor I replaced with this one nailed it! It makes me use annoying buttons and menus too often. - One HDMI input: Seriously. It's just not enough. I just had to run out and buy a 3-way HDMI splitter so I could hook up my PS3, PS4, and Roku. I understand that HDMI is going out of fashion, but many of you probably have 2 or more HDMI devices that you want to connect to this monitor. Digital audio noise comes from the connected loudspeakers. It's so loud I have to turn them off in a panic, turn the monitor off (perhaps turn it off completely with the 'real' power button on the back) and then turn it back on. This only happened a few times. Sound note: I had trouble diagnosing audio issues when I first set it up. I'm expecting audio to be routed from the input to my external speakers and am not receiving anything. I've fixed everything including cables and audio sources to no avail. What solved this problem was plugging in all the devices, making sure they're on, turning the monitor off with the "real" physical switch on the back, turning it back on, and then using each input individually. This solved the problem. Overall, it sounds like I'm berating this monitor, but I don't. It would have gotten 5 stars if it weren't for these two issues: 1) annoying buttons/menus 2) no memory of settings including color space/profile for each input. Maybe Samsung can handle both things. Some of these may be included in the firmware update (TIP!).
