Having owned this monitor for 5 years, I regret to say that it was very mixed. The biggest problem is the power supply. It emits a pulsating high-frequency hum when the monitor is idle, which is very noticeable and annoying when you're sleeping in the same room. The noisy power supply failed 2 or 3 times rendering the monitor unusable. I bought this monitor so I can see my digital work at the same size and color calibration as when it was printed and now I can see everything so clearly. It looks better than my iPad 4 that I draw on. I'm looking at an 8 megapixel photo taken with my iPhone 6 and when I zoom in I see fine details that you would never see on a lower resolution monitor. This review refers to gaming (single player) and office use. In terms of image quality and viewing angles other than resolution, I couldn't tell how it differed from my old Dell 3014 (30" IPS), but it outperforms my Samsung SA950 (27" TN 120Hz). The Natural Color Expert software version 4.0.2.6 provided on the CD only recognizes one LCD, there is no LCD selector switch, so I have to plug/unplug each LCD to calibrate it. I've been using it for over 8 months and still have no complaints. Both text and images are very sharp in their native 3840 x 2160 resolution. At native resolution, HDMI runs at 30Hz, while DP (coming from miniDP on the computer side) runs at 60Hz. The stand allows you to rotate the monitor into portrait mode. Deafening! I bought it to replace a 30" HP 2560x1600 (which I rented). Connected it to my GeForce GTX 760 via DisplayPort and it worked right away. If you have a Mac, you need Yosemite to run this monitor. I tried using it with a new Mac Pro ((2013), D700s and Mavetics and the display seemed to be buggy. It had severe ghosting on the 1" vertical bar on the right side of the screen. The Samsung -Support said it was buggy. Update before Yosemite fixed the problem. Don't plan on getting support from Samsung. Support is terrible. Aside from that 4k display is beautiful, 4 stars for the display, 1 star for the PIA.

I chose this one from the competition and I don't regret it.
