They don't scare away birds here

I have three of these windows for the picture windows we recently installed in the back of our house. We never open the windows due to year-round allergies, so I wanted a clear view of the backyard where we installed several bird feeders and squirrels. I never thought that NO screens would lead to the tragedy of many bird strikes most days. I got them hoping the wiggle and sparkle would keep them from flying to our windows, but I sat back and watched them shatter. through the window, an inch from where the strands shimmer in the sun. One day a hawk came and grabbed a young squirrel that was sitting on a fence. It then flew right through the window, making a crash that sounded like the glass was about to shatter! He dropped the squirrel on impact and the squirrel landed on one of the patio chairs. It started running after a few seconds, but the hawk was severely stunned and didn't move for several minutes. After he got up, he didn't leave for 20 minutes. In summary, these are interesting scenes as the wind blows the strands up and then they float back down - sort of like watching a giant jellyfish underwater. When the sunlight falls, they sparkle like crazy. After a few months both are still true and they get 5 stars for looks. But they're absolutely useless as a warning or deterrent to birds flying straight at them, so they get zero stars for efficiency, making a total of 2.5 stars.
