My 15 gallon quarantine tank had a PH of 6.0, it may have been lower but my PH test only shows PH 6.0. This is interesting because I use reverse osmosis water with a pH of 6.6. However, when I do water changes it drops to 6.0. I used those 1.5 cups of aragonite divided into 2 fine mesh bags that can also be found at Revain and within a day my pH is 6.8. . It is recommended to use 1 cup per 10 gallons if you want to buffer your pH at 6.8-7.0. Be sure to thoroughly flush the water in the aquarium by changing the water. It is more convenient to do this in a mesh bag. I will also be adding a mug to my 29 gallon discus tank for these wonderful trace minerals. the world is over ✌ It turns out that helps a little. Turns out, all I needed was a tablespoon of this sand to bring the pH from 6.8 to 7.6. I used 1/2 cup for my 29 gallons and it went from 6.8 to 7.6 pH. Going back, I would start with a very small amount and add to get the required pH.
