Required some assembly but was annoying. There are two long screws that need to be inserted into the back after assembly, but the back is black plastic so it was difficult to find the holes. I put on my glasses and turned on the extra light so I could see the holes. The screws then only went halfway in, so I asked my husband to try them with a larger screwdriver. He made a few more turns before giving up. However, I collected the rest with no problem, except that the brush was not left in the holder. The instructions simply say "install the dusting brush in the holder". There is a small table on the black plastic that is easy to miss. The cable also had to be laid, which wasn't difficult. Mine came with a long heavy cord which my husband noticed was too thick to easily spool. The controls are simple, at least if you've used a similar model before. The suction power seems to be good. It's not as loud as some vacuums, but I wouldn't say it's quiet. I quickly got tired of using it because it's heavy. I think it's for younger and stronger people. The instruction manual seems good, with clear diagrams. It is available in three languages and comes in two models, one with a dust box and the other with a dust box. I got the dust bag model because I was so tired of the "convenience" of dust bags that make me sneeze and need to be cleaned. Brochure printed in Mexico for Bissell Homecare. Learn the safety rules even if you think you know everything. "Do not place the vacuum cleaner on furniture or stairs."
