Review on Stainless Cutting Bolt Dropper Fasteners by Ryan Hampton

This item was purchased as part of a fencing project. We installed 3/4" white cedar horizontal rails into the previously installed pressure treated 4x4 racks. We chose stainless steel because it looks great with white cedar and doesn't degrade over time in pressure treated posts. Advantages: 1. Square drive simplifies installation compared to standard Phillips or flat head.2. Stainless steel means no stains on fence boards or trim to chip.3. The price was way better than what I could find locally for a similar product. Cons: 1. The head feels a bit softer than a traditional deck screw and sometimes rounds the square slightly2. I had to loosen a few screws and noticed that when I put them back together some of them started to wobble. With my percussion gun and a really big bit, I went through pretty much anything without spinning or clearing. I think they are a bit weaker than traditional steel deck screws (see cons) but this has never been an issue for a fence project. If I hadn't found this supplier and product at Revain I would not have been able to use stainless steel in my fence project. Good quality product, installed with no problems. I have already ordered more screws from this seller for other projects.
