Just a Noise Maker Parts

I bought this air intake primarily to replace my original air intake on a 2005 Acura tl. Rubber hose and OEM box cracked from wear. I wanted to replace it with something metallic and hopefully get my mpg back. It's winter now so I put it in the car as a short intake, I like that it can be used as a sri or tea. When I remove the resonator from my car, the intake sounds good. Sucks but not as loud as AEM V2. I wasn't expecting a huge increase in performance considering the rest of my car is stock. I had the K and N filters in my standard airbox as a reusable replacement. I like the fact that the cone has a sleeve to prevent water from entering the filter. In general, my gas consumption was the same. Filled up the tank twice. Average 23 mpg according to computer. (I reset it by removing the battery so the ECU learns my driving style.) I hardly fire unless I have to overtake a car. I drive as usual and have a lot of traffic here in DC. It adds noise, but I highly doubt there's any noticeable increase in power or gas economy. This is a metal tube with an oil filter. I can upgrade to an AEM cone later so I don't have problems with sensor lubrication or fouling. If I had the choice again, I'd probably just buy a tube off ebay and put in a good cone filter. IMO the price is too high, the difference is only in the sound and stickers with other tubes.
