As I was hoping, this adjustable picture hanger reduced the number of wrong holes I drilled in the walls. An excellent choice for adjusting the height of paintings hanging side by side. I can't yet tell if the screw turns a little under gravity and time, but I think if that was a problem you could put a drop of crazy glue on the nut after the right adjustment. Details are difficult. I had to chip off what could be described as the bottom edge of the "J" at the top to keep it from hitting the back of the picture frame, but I was glad that even after a few hammers the metal was still blowing very hard .
